Elements present on a well designed newspaper, terms

Headlines- large text near the main focus photo and gives a bit of information about the main topic

Sub-headlines- adds onto big headlines giving more info or they're on their own, like a less important headline

Lines- Separates pictures and text in the paper or cover

Boxes- Places where photos or text should go

Photos- The images showing a bit of the story in image form

Teaser- text or image insight on the inside stories

Flag- an eye catcher of the paper

Folios- a sheet of paper folded once to make two leaves, or four pages, of a book or a manuscript

Captions- A couple of sentences that give insight to the image with it

Stories- the text that goes along with images that explains what had happened, a story

Bylines- a line in a newspaper naming the writer of an article

Jumps- a line of type identifying the page on or from which a newspaper story is continues

Story dividers- a image or an add separating text making other stories

Screens-a flat panel or area on an electronic device such as a television, computer, or smartphone, on which images and data are displayed.

Infographics- a visual image such as a chart or diagram used to represent information or data

Masthead/Staff box- The listing in a news paper or periodical of information about its staff
