1. I think i can take photos i have seen today in only a few rooms around the bowie campus, ones where the people are moving around and doing stuff and not just reading or something. In a classroom where there is a lot of activity going on.
2. I would like to visit a gym class, or a guitar class or one of the heated debate classrooms.
3. Make sure to take photos that are really immersive and really makes you feel like it really happened and wasn't staged. An take photos of people in action and make it look like I'm not there at all.

Academics and Community Service
1. I have chosen the photo of the woman speaking into the elderly mans ear with the american flag in the background as my favorite photo. I chose this photo because of its title going along with the photo and how they have included the american flag in the photo.
2. In this Photo I see two rules of photography in this photo, i see 3 rules of photography, i see the two people being framed by the flag and the edges of the photo. I see simplicity as well, these two are speaking to each other and they have been set in front of a simple black background, and then rule of thirds, they are set in the bottom right quadrant.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Photo Manipulation and Ethics
1.
A.The story, Ethics i the age of digital manipulation, was a long listing of photo editors that have taken actual photos of events and has altered them. Some of these photo editors were in big time companies changing the face of these photographs. Making others look a certain way, or fooling around with the photo hoping no one noticed lead them all to being fired and and having all their works terminated.
B. I think this is a very unethical thing to do. Taking what people really want to see and need to know and changing it to make us think others or trying to be funny or being pure lazy. Adding your own opinion to the photo is something no one wants to see. Or giving false Information to people about things can lead to large amounts of trouble for not only the editor but for everyone.

Post Shoot Reflection
1. The challenges that i encountered while trying to get the photos for the four prompts was me finding trying to find creative ways to show the prompts. I think i got the Bowie Prompt pretty well for creativeness.
2.The way i held the camera and took the picture of most of my things was in a way where you can see the object from its side and not so straight on.
3.If I could do this assignment again i would take pictures that actually include the basic photography skills, as many as i could. Probably not take pictures of the first things i saw.
4.The things i would keep the same, i would keep taking the photos from the side a bit ad try and keep it interesting and creative.
5. I believe i have achieved rule of thirds on the bowie photo and balance on the the square one, not sure about the others. They're so great.
6. I would not be interested in shooting the same prompts again, try new and maybe challenging prompts.
7.The rule that I am not totally clear with is balance, a way to figure out what the rule is is by studying up on examples of it before going out for it.

Avoiding Mergers
In this photo there is a merger and it shows that the plane might be flying into the building which it will.
Framing
This photo shows a framing by closing the ball of smoke around the buildings and the end of the photograph.
Lines
This photo shows lines because of his slow diagonal lines falling down into the building and of the pillars in this building surrounding.
The Rule of Thirds
Simplicity
This photo shows simplicity because of its simple background of just smoke, and the burning tower being the main center of focus of this photo.

National Geographic
This is my favorite photo because I see a clash of the pass and the future, Its really something that is surprising. A whole culture living in a world surrounded by things that could change them greatly but they still choose to do these ways. No matter what theyre doing they stick to what they have always known.
If I had to enter a photo Into this contest I would go into down town Austin and take photos of the weird, interesting, people for everyone to see.

Touching People
1. I find it very surprising to see that some people would take part in this so comfortably, well, they look comfortable in the photos. I would think that lots of people would not participate in touching each other in not so normal ways. This is a great and interesting little project that is going on, very different.
2. I would participate in such shoot, but I would have to ask "what for" before having my picture taking. About touching strangers, as long as its like in awkward and uncomfortable places.
3. I think a photo shoot of taking pictures of different kinds of toilets flushing from different angles in different areas would be very weird but pretty cool to see.
4. I would say the photos are good, he doesnt put much into them, its the people and the backgrounds and items and how they look in the pictures that make them good photos.

Top 40

The photographer had made the corners of the photo darker and blurred so that the rays and glory of the light is shined around the flower being planted onto the bayonet. An the rays of light seem to be coming from that flower.
This photo had made the top 40 because it is a part of history and of is wonder glow around the flower.

The composition of this photo that had my eyes direct to were the focusing on what is going on, like the photographer had to capture what mattered in this photo, so everything is blurred around this focused spot.
This is something you wouldn't see any normal day, that's why I think its on the top 40

Claude P. Dettloff |
The thing that had caught my eye was the inclusion of reactions from the other men. I think seeing those other faces in the photo really set off the emotion sort of.
This has made the top 40 because its something that still happens today captured from a long time ago.
Flipping Photos Upside Warm up
1. I do like this unique idea, but i feel that this idea has been done but the other. On the pops commercial they would put the googly eyes on peoples chins which would represent monsters.
2.Only a second, after that small second i knew what i was looking at. Some weird foreheads.

Great Black and White Photographers, PART 2
Irving Penn

Irving Penn was born June 16th, 1917 in Plainfield New jersey. He died only a couple years ago on October 3rd, 2009 in New york City. He had attended the Philadelphia Museum school of art for four years. There, Alexey Brodovitch taught him how to advert design. He was seeking the career of being an art director, while doing so he worked two summers for Harpers Bazaar Magazines as the office boy and artistes apprentice. After graduating he became the art director of Junior League Magazine, then in later years he worked in a department store. At age 25 he quit his job and used his savings to move to Mexico. He stayed for a year where he painted. He then moved to New York where him and Alexander Liberman won a crowed and was the art director of Vogue Magazine. Most didn't like his ideas but Alex did, so Alex told Irving to go and take pictures himself. On October 1, 1943, Irvings Photo was then printed out onto the magazine an his photography career started. He then started to work in many other fields other than magazines. In the 1950s he founded his own studio in New york and continued in fashion, commercial and personal work. He continued this until he died. His work is now all over in many museums.

Camera
1. The camera obscura effect is achieved by having a tiny hole in a wall that light is being focused through and the scene outside is then projected upside down on the other wall acting like a camera lens, focusing and projecting light onto the all of the dark room
2. Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses in the 17th century which has made man one step closer to making the modern day camera.
3. In 1827 Joseph Nicéphore Niépce had added film to the portable camera obscuras which then successfully made the first modern camera.
4. Digital Cameras now a days still work as the ones first made. Light is sent through the lens into the camera and the film is then exposed.
5. Digital Cameras capture images by using an electronic sensor called a CCD. It makes modern photography cheaper and able to be stored on reusable computer memory devices.
6. Auto mode will make the camera completely control flash and exposure while program means it will automatic assist while you can control the flash and exposure in the settings of the camera.
7. Portrait mode is when you want only one thing to stand out in the photo like a person so the mode will attempt to blur the background using the fastest available lens.
8. Sports mode is used to stop all motion like when someone is running or a car is moving very fast, the camera would use the highest shutter speed possible.
9. Using the half pressed button skill helps in faster camera response time, more control over focus, and encourages better composition so it is essential for beginners to learn this skill.
10. The symbol with the lightning crossed means that flash is disabled. This would be used for not changing the mood of the photograph by effecting the light.
11. The symbol with the lightning and "auto" means the camera will flash when it thinks that the photograph needs more lighting. You could use this when you can not tell when a photo does or does not need lighting, like a little helper.
12. If there is to much light in the image the image will then be "washed out"
13. If there isn't enough light then the image will then be to dark.
14. Stop is used to represent a change in the brightness in light.
15. If the new planet had two suns it would be one stop brighter, double the light equals one stop.
16. If the new planet had four suns it would be two stops brighter.
17. The effect of having a longer shutter speed, it will capture more light.
18. The effect of having a shorter shutter speed will capture less light in the image.
19. The Aperture is like the pupil of the camera, it controls light.
20. You can increase the amount of light in a image by having larger aperture openings.

First Photos: best and worst
I find this being my other favorite photo. This one is of Shelby, I like the way she had been moving in this one instead of taking a still image. The way I made this photo pretty well is the act of not letting her know this photo was being taken.
I find this photo being the worst. It was my first photo though, so that's probably why it wasnt what i wanted. I didnt really know what i was doing
soon go it.
